A couple weeks ago, I posted the above picture with the quote: “Prepping for Germany, whenever I finally get there.” Because, after talking a lot about Germany, making the grand declaration that I would make it there in 2012, and then repeating it again in a vlog, it wasn’t going to happen. I didn’t have the money, which served as a convenient excuse, because I was also scared like crazy.
Well, I have the money. And I held onto that information for 12 hours before I finally told friends and they all said, “you have to go!” I do. I have to go. So I’m going! The plan is still for this Fall, but if I can’t make that happen, then in the Spring. I’m still scared, but really more excited.

YAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAY!
Don’t forget to send me a postcard this time. ;)
YAY!!! So excited for you!!!
Yes! So exciting! Post cards! And blogs! And vlogs!
Also, you should totally go to that castle in the post you linked with the declaration. I was reading about it recently and it looks amazing. Perfect for a Blogger Castle too, I might add.
YES! When are we going to practice German? Do I need to hook you up with friends? Where are you going to go? So many questions!!!
Congrats! I was fortunate enough to live in Germany for a few years, and miss it immensely. So much culture, history, and good food. Hope to take the youngster as soon as he’s old enough to actually form memories…
GOOD DECISION.
thrilled for you. i remember you talking about this during VEDA last year. let me know if you want any help or advice re: planning. i live in amsterdam, so you’ll have a friend in the area. well, the continent. but seriously, germany isn’t that far…so if flights are cheaper to/from AMS, let me know & we can plan to meetup.
So you are going to try to get to the biggest beer festival in the world between Sept 21 and Oct 7? Was that the plan or are you coming to my neighbours for their Philosophical and Theological history? Don’t believe a word they say today, they have lost their way. Too much beer and bratwursts.
I also enjoyed the picture of Neuschwanstein castle which is amazing to look around and very high if you want to get there on foot. Can’t believe I lived in Duitsland for six years and never enjoyed a day, then. I love it now.

Germany is a really cool place; I’ve been to Cologne and stayed with a family in Dusseldorf. I just really liked saying Dusseldorf.
I am excited to hear about your adventure!
