I’ve Always Wanted To Be a Bad Ass Like Veronica Mars

vm

This would be a good time to confess that I loved the show Veronica Mars and I am a total wimp (though not really a push over) who has always dreamed of suddenly being kick ass.

Veronica Mars has everything.  She’s tough, smart, pretty, ambitious.  Okay, so she’s also a little emotionally wounded, but who isn’t?

It’s really the tough thing that I’ve always admired, because I just take everything so damn personally, while she more appropriately deflects all that crap with a hard-as-steel defense mechanism.  I run away from people, while she runs after them.  She plays the game, while I sit on the sidelines.

So, I can’t see myself becoming like Veronica Mars, but I need to pull out my DVDs, because Cassidy Casablancas still kind of melts my heart.  Any Veronica Mars fans out there?

A friend lent me the first few seasons and I just started it, but I’m already in love. Kristen Bell is BAD ASS!!!

I’ve never seen it. I’ll have to check it out. Was she really tough though or is it just a facade? Sometimes the people we think are really tough, go home and cry too (which is something I would do).

I LOVE VM. Possibly less so the third series, but the first one is just about perfect television. She’s so smart and sticks up for herself and yes, I would like to be able to solve crimes in my spare time.

The first time I watched it I got the box set during the week, so I could only watch a few eps a night, and I was DESPERATE to go home everyday after work and find out who dunnit. I should have called in sick. :)

Last summer I went a little crazy with Veronica Mars. I pretty much inhaled all the seasons. I also admired her for a number of reasons, mainly her courage and her ability to just not care a smidge about what other people thought. Good good show.

It’s funny that you mention this, I too always wanted to be a bad ass.
I never watched the show when it was on the air, but I purchased the first season dirt cheep for about $20, with the desire of owning all three someday.
About two weeks ago I saw them on-sale for $17 a pop, I scooped them up and I don’t think my life has been more complete since that day. ♥

I just bought Season Two for ten dollars at Kroger. Veronica kicks butt! It is empowering!

Loved Veronica Mars, that first season was absolute perfection! Come seasons 2 & 3 the quality took a turn for the worst but I watched that show over and over. Veronica is probably one of the best female characters on tv. :-)

No Veronica Mars for me, but I can understand the desire to be a badass. I definitely want to be as tough and steely as all those Hemingway heroes, but my emotional nature and sensitivity often makes me fall a little bit short.

i’ve never watched the show, but can understand wanting to be a badass. there’s a few characters out there i would LOVE to be just because they seem like such strong individuals regardless of whatever “weakness” they may have (and they have magical powers too!).

maybe i’ll give the first season a try…

My love for Veronica Mars, her sass, and her general awesomeness is eternal. Also, her dad is so great that I wish I could hang out with him on a semi-regular basis.

Yup. I love V. Mars. I must say, I was more in love with Logan. Or maybe Leo. I thought Cassidy was creepy lol

I really, really wish I had watched this show when it was on air. I only saw a few episodes, and I feel like I need to check it out again after reading this post because I’d like to be more like Veronica Mars, too!
