Not having cable for seven years really stunted my TV development. But, the cream rises to the top and I think I’ve managed to see most of the best shows on television. I’m still making my way through The West Wing, but it’s September and one of the many things that makes September magical is new TV. So, here are the shows I will be watching. It’s not a unique list, but it wins out in quality.
How I Met Your Mother
This show has had a renaissance in my own mind. I’ve been watching since the first season, and I’ve always loved the show, but my interest waned over the last season or two until I rewatched all the episodes on DVD this Summer and everyone I know suddenly fell in love with it. I’m more excited about its return than I have been in a while.
The Big Bang Theory
I love this show, but I never get to see it since I work when it’s on and CBS doesn’t post it online! I can’t wait for Season 2 to be released on DVD and I have to find a way to watch Season 3 as it airs.
30 Rock
It’s probably my favorite show on TV. I always expect it to be good and it always is. I hope we get to see more of Liz Lemon in her college years. I especially love when she speaks German.
The Office
I will be watching, but I have to admit that I’ve lost most of my interest in this show. I was barely hanging on before, especially to the Jim and Pam stuff which was so boring to me this last season, and then they had to go with the whole baby plot line, which I hate. I used to always trust that The Office writers would pull it off and not disappoint me, but I don’t trust them as much anymore. Still, the Michael Scott Paper Company episodes from last season were awesome, so maybe I’ll be surprised.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
If you’re not watching this show, what’s wrong with you? It can be abrasive at first listening to idiots argue with each other non-stop, but eventually all that noise becomes music to your ears. Really. I mean, last season actually ended with a musical. And, I’m no fan of musicals, but The Nightman Cometh is one to appreciate.
Community
I have really high hopes for this show, so don’t disappoint me Joel McHale!
Of course, the love of my life remains Forensic Files, but I don’t think they’re big on season premiers.

I’m excited about most of those too, plus that new one Modern Family (I think that’s what it’s called?)!
Love, love, loooooove How I Met Your Mother.
I just discovered The Big Bang Theory last month when my sister gave me Season 1 to watch… and even though Season 2 comes out on dvd on Tuesday, you *can* find them online.. I spent 3 nights working my way through the second season just to get my Sheldon fix, lol.
oh how I love How I Met Your Mother!!! I started watching it last Christmas when I went home to see my family because they were all amped on the show and in about three weeks I watched ALL the seasons….and then I watched it again! can’t wait for it to start again.
I’m excited about Community, too. And The Big Bang Theory. I intend on owning every episode on DVD someday.
I love HIMYM soooo much. It just cracks me up. Although I’m millions of seasons behind everyone else…
I’m looking forward to Grey’s Anatomy. I know, I know. Typical. I didn’t become a fan until the end of the fourth season. When we lived in our apartment, we only had three channels, so it was really all that was on. I fell in love, and I’ve since watched all of the seasons.
I watch a lot of American television, so I’m excited about the new season starting. From those, I’ll be watching The Office and How I Met Your Mother. I’ve also seen an advert for a new show called ‘Flashforward’, it looks pretty amazing.
I love all of those shows. I am terrible at following shows though. I just watch them when they are on pretty much.
I have just recently been introduced to “The Big Bang Theory” and it is hilarious!!
I love The Big Bang Theory! I want my own Sheldon. He’s the funniest guy on TV! :)
And I lovvvve The Office. I love the Jim and Pam storyline. And I love it even more that they’re having a baby.
I’m also really looking forward to Community. I adore Joel McHale and, from the commercials, it looks good so I hope it is. But I remember how Parks and Recreation looked good and it just seems like The Office with a female Michael. So I’m nervous.
Oh, and I also can’t wait to see Jay Leno’s 10pm comedy show! It looks seriously funny. Also, it takes very little to make me laugh. :)
I have never seen any of these shows. I watched the new Vampire Diaries out of boredom the other night. It was entertaining but a far stretch. I am hoping to catch The Good Wife with Julianna Margulies.
I’ve never seen any of those shows you just listed. I’ve heard about Community too and I’m looking forward to seeing what it’s all about. Got my fingers crossed!
