Lately I . . .

by Ashley on July 17, 2009

  • have been feeling restless.  Oh Summer.  Why must you do this to me?
  • have been struggling to wake up in the morning.  I wonder if someone substituted decaf in for my regular coffee.
  • have been watching a lot of real life crime shows.  A lethal cocktail of Dateline, 48 Hours Mystery, and Forensic Files.
  • have been wanting a new wardrobe.  And someone to help me pick it out.
  • have been yearning to go home to Washington.  Maybe in August.
  • have been annoyed with a lot of what I’ve been writing.  I’ve been writing a lot more than I’ve been posting.
  • have been wanting to complain about the California heat.  But, I try not to complain about weather.
  • have been wishing it was an Olympic year.  The Swimming World Championships will get me through.
  • have been faced with a lot of grumpy library patrons.
  • have been loving cream blush.
  • have been wishing, as always, that I was more outgoing and adventurous.
  • have been eating terribly.
  • have been watching Big Brother.  I hate it every year, but I can never stop watching.
  • have been growing nervous about the Fall.
  • have been thinking about reading more.  And taking too many books home from the library.
  • have been connecting with more bloggers.
  • having been walking around the college campuses that surround me.  It’s not just the nerd in me that thinks they’re magical.
  • have been avoiding your Harry Potter posts.  Even without spoilers, I want to see the movie first!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I’d love a new wardrobe, too. (Maybe I’ll go on What Not to Wear one day. That show is my guilty pleasure!)

I hear you! The Winter Olympics are coming in February so it’s coming somewhat soon. I always love the Summer Olympics more.

I sooo need a new wardrobe. But I need money for that so just waiting for that money tree to show up outside my door!

Oh, and I tagged you in a meme!

I also (almost always) want a new wardrobe. Every time I try to buy things I’m torn between getting things I can wear to the office and getting “fun” things. I almost always get the fun thing, but I have to wear the work clothes WAY more than I wear the fun clothes, so there you go.
I’m hopefully seeing Harry Potter this weekend! I hope you get a chance to soon!

I’ve been feeling my writing is crap lately, too. SO many drafted posts that are going unpublished.

Harry Potter is awesome.

I like this. It is like a complaint/longing list. Love it!

I know what you mean about the books. I want to read so many things, but find myself not even going anywhere near the pile I brought home.

You should stare down your grumpy library patrons w/ your sexy librarian glasses. Gotta put them to use ya know? Just saying. =)

I’m a notorious over-checker-outer (that’s a lot of “er”s, haha) from the library. But I do it with lit-crit books. I’ll go into the stacks to check out one book on, say, ol’ Hemingway but then I leave with literally bags full. But, then again, there is nothing I enjoy more than those stack runs, as I call them. Luckily I have an office/broom closet at the library where I can throw all those books without lugging them home.

I hope you can get the chance to go home. Even for someone like me, who has issues with the place I came from, going home still feels good. Plus, I can be jealous of you being around Seattle- I’ve never been! And going home could give you the reason to go out and get a new wardrobe, no?

I try not to complain about the weather either. Complaining does nothing about it, you know? I wish I was more outgoing and adventurous too, and I always eat terribly ever since I moved out of my grandmother’s house. :D

I can’t wait to see HP! I’m seeing it on Saturday morning :D:D
I have yet to try cream blush but it is definitely on my list of “to buys” when I have more disposable income!
I have been feeling really apathetic towards everything lately – even to updating my blog! But thanks for reading :)

True Crime. LOVE. Though I run into a problem with watching them when no one is home. I get really scared, but not enough to turn them off apparently. So, I end up being awake all night thinking that Ken Bianchi or the BTK killer is running through my apartment.

I miss the Olympics too. And the campaigning!

I’d take a new wardrobe, and I never hold back on complaining about the weather. I think it might be an official Texas past time.

I love college campuses! There is just something so great about being on a campus and exploring. I was on my old campus last week, its always a bit strange going back but there is something magical about it.

I also love college campuses. Something is so beautiful about them, especially historic ones.

I’m going to be in Washington for a week and a half in August – I’ve heard it’s the best time of year there. Where in the state are you from?
