I’m feeling a little distant from the blogosphere right now. As it turns out, when I have a million things going on, I can always make time for blogging, but when my days are wide open, blogging takes a back seat. This is why I could never be self-employed.
When I’m not blogging, the thing I miss the most is not writing, but interacting. This is why I have a hard time believing people who say they blog just for themselves and don’t care if anyone reads or not.
I hope you’re all doing well. Who can freakin’ believe it’s Memorial Day weekend already? Any big plans?
Yesterday afternoon I found out where I’m moving next year. By next year, I mean July 1st. It’s so close to where I live now that I can’t decide whether it’s smarter to pack stuff in my car and drive it over there or just walk it over. Even though I’m not moving for more than a month, I have already started packing things up and throwing things away. It’s not that I’m a plan ahead kind of person, it’s that I’m a little crazy about the amount of stuff I have and I’m constantly paring down.
As for this holiday weekend, Lisa and I are celebrating in the traditional way. We’re gong to eat pizza and watch Twilight and Harry Potter: The Order of the Phoenix. We need an Edward fix (as well as a good laugh) and it’s time to start preparing for the release of the next HP movie.
Have a great weekend everyone!

You know, it’s funny because I’ve been doing the exact same thing in regard to blogging. Though I’ve been traveling a little bit, I feel like I could blog bc I do have time but I don’t. Oh well, it’s ok to take blogging vacations! But don’t worry/feel bad about it.
I’d say pack up in your car. It gets hot in SoCal in the summer, as I’m sure you know. Plus it’d probably be easier just doing it in a few big pushes rather than a lot of little ones. And that’s a great idea starting to pack things up and throwing things away. Just do a little bit at a time, and you’ll be thanking yourself so much later.
Feliz Memorial Day!
If your new place is so close, why are you moving?
I am beyond excited about the new Harry Potter movie. I enjoy the the interaction of blogging as well. Yay for fun new apartments. =) Happy Memorial Day Weekend Ashley!
Yes, isn’t it funny how we can always blog when there are other things to do – but when we have free time, we often don’t get to it? Crazy how time management works.
I do love the interaction of blogging. I do write for myself, in some ways; but in many (most) others it’s about the interaction.
And your plans for the weekend are vastly more exciting than mine. Yet I’ve still (so far) had a decent weekend.
Have a lovely day!
I cannot *wait* for the new Harry Potter movie!
The last few time J and I went to the cinemas, everytime the preview came on I’d slap his knee and “whisper yell” OMG I CANNOT WAAAAAAAIT!
Yeah. I’m annoying like that.
You too! :)
Sorry the “you too” reply to “have a great weekend” is late! I’ve obviously been neglecting my blog as well! I’m catching up as we speak.
As they say, “you gotta do you.” If you feel like taking a break, I think that’s by far smarter than trying to push something out when you’re not feeling it!
I can’t wait for HP6 OR Twilight 2… ;-)
I’m almost done reading Twilight. You should be proud, ha.
I’ve been feeling the same way recently. I have a lighter load of courses this summer. So I have more free time than I know what to do on a daily basis. Glad to know that I’m not the only one feeling this way.
That sounds like a great way to spend the holiday weekend. I spent mine with family and friends cooking out. Overall a really nice weekend I’d say, besides the rain.
Okay, I am way behind on my reading. I’m just getting to this post. WOW! Well, I hope you had a great weekend of movie watching. I can’t wait for the new HP movie!! EEK!
