Today It’s Friday, and Tomorrow It’s Valentine’s Day

  • Sugar cookies like the one pictured are my absolute favorite cookies. They used to only make them for Halloween, so I would look forward to them every year. Then they started making them for Christmas too. Now they make them for every single holiday. I’m not complaining, but it’s a little harder to rationalize buying them when they’re not going out of season.
  • I’m single, and while I’d rather not be, I’m certainly don’t feel miserable about it. I’m just saying, I could use a little more Adorable Boy in my life, but I don’t cry myself to sleep at night. And, I don’t find Valentine’s Day to be particularly depressing. Especially this once, since I have plans. Lisa’s having a party. There will be food and dessert and alcohol.  The 3 major rivals to boys!
  • Every single week, I go through the same thought process: I don’t have anything to blog about this week; I’ve finally run out of ideas. Well, it’s probably for the best. I’d rather be a blogger who posts just a couple of times a week anyway. Then somehow the words start pouring out of me, and the bigger challenge is keeping myself from posting more than once a day.
  • I need to write the first two chapters of my thesis in the next two weeks. I need to conjure up the discipline it takes to sit and read and write.
  • I’ve been missing my mom a lot lately.  I last saw her in September, and I won’t see her again until my graduation in May.  My mom and I don’t have a best friend kind of relationship, but we’re still close and if I was going to unload my problems on anyone and just cry it out, I would choose her.  With family, I usually find that  just talking to them regularly on the phone makes me feel like I’m still part of their lives, but there are times when I really feel the distance.  And, right now, my mom seems mighty far away in Alaska.
  • In honor of Valentine’s Day, I painted my toenails red and my fingernails black.
  • It only took me three tries over three months and a good four hours last night, but I finally got my custom header to work!  I really have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to this kind of thing, but I’ve always managed to get by with googling directions.  It worked again.  Nothing fancy, but at least it has a little more personality.
  • I’m thinking about buying some more of those cookies.

Have a great weekend and a very merry Valentine’s Day!

Have a good Valentines! Sounds like you’ll be having fun. I’m all alone this Valentine’s day b/c I’m single and all my friends have dates… It sucks. And if you find some discipline to start your thesis, let me know where you got it b/c I’m totally lacking in discipline at the moment.

Happy V-day! Trust me, it’s overrated. Friday the 13th is much more exciting, right?

I loove those kinds of cookies. Mmm. My mom mailed me a box of caramel delights for my bday/vday. Best present ever since I’ve been craving them for weeks! I miss my mom a lot too.

I’m single too. I’m ok with it. No reason to cry yourself to sleep. We are independent and don’t NEED men which is awesome!

Lisa’s party sounds like it will be a blasty!

My finger nails are black too and I like your header! Also, I always have so much to say when you write in bullets.

Those cookies are SO good, and you’re right, they never seem to go out of season anymore!

Mmmmmm….sugar cookies…..I think I might have to go get some. I wonder if they make Mardi Gras sugar cookies?

I am personally not doing anything tomorrow. Hubby and I are just going to stay home and watch a movie. We don’t do the whole dinner out, dress up crap. It is way over rated.

Love the new header!

I’m excited for the party! I have a lot of baking to do tonight. Those chocolate brownies take a lot of time. Or cupcakes, same thing.

Those sugar cookies are very delicious- I can’t keep them (or any sweets) in my apartment otherwise I’ll eat them all at one. I love that you always have such nice finger/toe nail paint combinations.

Good luck writing your thesis- I know how tough it can be to get started righting but once you do, you’ll be rolling along! It’s just like blogging, haha. And have yourself a good weekend and a great Valentine’s Day with your friends.

Like the header!

I am not that sad about V-Day either…I mean, it’s my first single one in 4 years, but for some reason I really don’t care.

Ummm, same thing about not having anything to blog about and then somehow doing it anyway!
