Nail Polish and Earthquakes and 30 Rock, Oh My!

How about some Friday bullets!

  • Did you feel the earthquake last night? Probably not. It seems like very few of us bloggers live on the west coast. There was a 4.5 (or something) here in Southern California. This is the second earthquake we’ve had since I started blogging. Relive the last one here. Last time I was putting on eye makeup. This time I was painting my fingernails. I don’t like what that suggests about how I spend my time. Last time I’d just received awesome news. So, I’ll watch out for that today.
  • I got my new nail polish, and it’s all so pretty. Do I need yellow nail polish? Um , no. But, it’s fun anyway.
  • Wednesday I was the anti-New Year’s resolution. I canceled my gym membership and then I had Taco Bell for dinner. Don’t worry. I only canceled the gym, because I can use the new one at work for free. The Taco Bell wasn’t the best, but I had no food in my house. I’ve fixed that now, so it’s back to kind of being healthy.
  • Speaking of the healthy eating, I’ve gone back to what’s healthy for me. So, I’ve stopped hitting the vending machine at work (a nasty habit I’d developed), and I’m trying to eat real meals. But, I haven’t made any real progress like the kind I wanted to. For some reason, when it comes to my time, I hate to waste it thinking about food, planning meals, and attempting to cook.
  • I love 30 Rock. It’s my favorite show. Sorry to The Office, but it has officially been overthrown!
  • I was actually watching the Sex and The City movie–which I love!–last night, and then it was referenced on 30 Rock. I also loved the Teen Witch reference.
  • I pretty much accomplished nothing this week. My only accomplishment was showing up to work at the library every day, and completing the minimum required of my research jobs. Can’t forget that I have a thesis to write.
  • I don’t have any big plans this weekend. I have some things to get done before next week when my friend Elyse comes to visit. I can’t wait.

I hope you’re all well. Enjoy your weekends!

The nail polish is very pretty. I like the pink one in the front. I might have to order some of that. I’ve always wanted to experience an earth quake. I’ve never felt one. It sounds fun, but I’m glad it wasn’t one of those big ones and that everyone’s okay.

-I was thinking about yellow nail polish last night. I want to try wearing it. Yellow is so edgy.
- Taco Bell is so good. Mmm Bean Burritos.
- I NEED to watch 30 Rock. I have been meaning to for awhile.
-I loved the Sex and the City movie. I cried. It was embarrassing.
- I have no plans for the weekend either. Just trying to get stuff done. It makes me less excited for Friday.

30 Rock was great last night! I loved Salma Hayek (sp?). The Office has slipped a little since it’s first three seasons, I think? But it is still way up there on my favorites.

I love that lime green color.
I’ve been meaning to watch 30 Rock for a while now. And The Office! Since everyone talks about them both. I’m just so busy catching up with other series that I can never keep up.

I love new nail polish!! Its always so much fun. I hit up OPI sales like you wouldn’t believe. The whole healthier eating and eating actual meals thing is hard but I am attempting it too. This year needs to be the year I finally get my act together. Have a great weekend!

I’m vaguely obsessed with nail polish. I wouldn’t be surprised if I owned more than 50 bottles of the stuff. I’ve always really loved painting my nails in lovely colours (I don’t know what it is, but pretty much all colours look so great as polish)!

Based on the corollary between makeup and earthquakes, I’m surprised the Big One didn’t happen on NYE (haha).

It does require some time and planning, but bringing your lunch is one of the best things to do. What I usually do is make a lot of something at the beginning of the week (there’s this Italian soup mix that you just add to boiling water and it’s great, or a big thing of pasta, etc) and you can bring it for lunch as well! This doesn’t work if you get sick of things easily, but it takes care of lunches and dinners at once.

I’m in SoCal and I missed an earthquake? Bummer! Earthquakes are fun. ;-)

No earthquake was felt in Oregon…booo I have never felt an earthquake so it must be exciting. I have an absolute love for Sex & The City. I drug my bf to watch it in the theaters (he was the only straight guy there) and now I own it. I have seen it multiple times and still bawl and laugh the way throught it.

I love bullet posts. They are the best!

Pretty, pretty nail polish. I’m off to read your last earthquake post now!

Love the nail polish. I NEVER paint my nails anymore, I should start again but I feel like my hand feels heavier when I do. Seriously, it’s weird.

I felt it! Scared the CRAP out of me. I’m curious, where in So. Cal do you go to school? I’ve lived in Pasadena/Glendale most of my life.

Hey there, Ashley :)

I remember a few years back (I think it was around 2004), I was sitting in the school library (in Virginia) and I started to feel this slight rumble. It only lasted a few minutes. Come to find out later that it was a tiny little earthquake, but at the time I thought it was this heavy-set woman walking by. I felt bad for it!

And nothing can beat Teen Witch. Especially the rapping scene. That is the best piece of film in cinematic history.

That’s too funny–SATC came in the mail yesterday, and I watched it for the first time last night!

Enjoy all those pretty colors!

I’m loving all the new nail polishes! I don’t think I even own that many total. I hope you’re having a lovely Friday evening!

Hi, fellow Twenty-Something blogger!

I try to eat healthy too…but Taco Bell once in a while is totally acceptable.

I’m a new reader of your blog and I love it!

Those nail polish colors are so pretty. I’ve never seen that brand before. Where can I find it? Also, I hear you on not wanting to spend time planning meals. I don’t mind cooking, but thinking about what to cook doesn’t interest me at all. Also, good for you for having a place to work out for free! I pay an obscene amount of money for my gym membership.

I just subscribed to your blog so I’ll definitely be back :)

Ashley, don’t be afraid to live from time to time. I’ve never met someone who is 100% healthy, so Taco Bell is okay if it’s one of those occasions. Are you going to tell us what you’re planning to write your thesis over, or this an upcoming surprise?

I loooooooove the office. I recently started watching 30 rock and I must say it is making it’s way up to my favorites! It’s that dang Tracy Morgan! He’s so funny!

Okay, so this is going to be one of those awkward “I just found your blog and we have so much in common!” comments. Seriously, though, from the Travis-love to 30 Rock to writing and such, it’s uncanny.
The Teen Witch reference absolutely killed me. Ah, Kenneth…
