I’m Definitely Going to Regret This

Here’s the story of my New Year’s Eve:

Okay, I’ll provide some explanation. If you follow me on twitter (and you do, right?), then you probably know that I’m sick. It started the day after Christmas as a sore throat, and developed slowly from there. I showed up for work on Monday morning, and my boss immediately sent me home.

It got worse after that. I spent a lot of time sleeping (thank you, NyQuil) and sitting around. My boss talked me out of working on Tuesday and Wednesday (the library is closed anyway, so there’s not much for us to do). I thought I was getting better on Tuesday, but then I woke up on December 31st feeling worse than ever. I tried everything to get myself feeling better, but nothing worked.

This is my long-winded way of saying that it was New Year’s Eve, and I was sitting around feeling terrible, and debating whether I’d make it until midnight. And, then about 10:30 that night, I started feeling a lot better. It was a New Year’s Eve miracle!

So, I had a little more than an hour to burn, and I was walking around my apartment, bored. I picked up my eyeliner just for funsies, and basically covered my entire eye with it. Then, channeling the fun my cousin and I used to have putting on as much terrible makeup as possible, I added some bright purple highlighter. But, that wasn’t dramatic enough, so I went for bright pink instead. And, then a little tourquoise for under the eyes. While I was at it, I decided to add a little wing to my eyes with some more eyeliner. Then, my eyes looked too dramatic for my face, so I piled on as much blush as possible. I topped it all off with the ugliest frosty pink lip gloss I own. Glitter would have really finished this look off, but I don’t keep that on hand. And, there you have it! A makeup look that should never leave the house!

I’m afraid that someone is going to take me seriously. In person, it actually looked way worse. My face was completely red with blush, and my eyes were black. I don’t know, maybe a high side-ponytail would have really sold it!

Really, though, I’m feeling much better now.  And, hopefully saner.  Step away from the eyeliner, Ashley.

Actually, your eye-make-up looks similar to my EVERYDAY look. True story! :)

Glad you’re feeling better.

Hehehe! I can think of worse ways to ring in the new year, for sure! Glad you’re feeling better. And actually, the lip gloss is rather cute!

Whoops! I’m home for the holidays and I guess you’re not on my reader out here! Sorry I’ve missed the past couple blogs.

I’m glad that NYE brought the “feel better” miracle to you! I love playing with makeup, lol

What is the deal?! I feel like crapy today. Oh well. Glad you feel better now.
And I’ve done this from time to time myself! Next time draw on the eyebrows way dark… it is terrifying.

Ha ha! Fabulous look! You are right; the side pony tail really would have sold it. I’m glad you’re feeling better.

This is fantastic! Who needs cold medicine when you have eyeliner!

Awww. I also spent NYE sick. Though while wearing less eyeliner.

A little anyway.

I hope that you feel better.

All you need is a pair of gold leggings and a sequin top and you’ll be ready for clubbing in Hollywood. Or should I say clubbin’?

I think your makeup is lovely- lovely I tells ya! I’m sorry you were feeling bad but I’m glad you’ve started feeling better.

To tell you the truth, I’m not wild about NYE in general. Plus, this year I spent it in a hotel room in Los Angeles.

Ah, messing around with make-up. It’s so much fun, so I must admit that I do this often too… Though I’m usually trying to achieve a glam-rock look (yes, there is glitter involved). :D

Ah! How fun! I know people who actually do choose to OD on eyeliner and go out, thinking they are awesome. Anyway, adorable pictures!

I hope you’re feeling better. Nothing is worse than being sick on the holidays. :/

I’m pretty sure I rang in the New Year talking to a bunch of crazy little kids playing Halo. I’m not even good at Halo. I guess you could call it my “eyeliner” for the evening, just with less face washing involved.
