My Life in Pictures: At Home Holiday Edition

by Ashley on December 20, 2008

Also known as, way to get everyone at the grocery store staring at you, and way to lose an argument with your dad about whether you’re addicted to your iPhone.

My first holiday cup of the season.

Layers. I feel like a marshmallow, but it’s cold here.

img_0153

Varieties of fake cheese.

img_0159

Pepto-Bismo for after you finish all of your fake cheese.

img_0193

Snow!!! And, we’re supposed to get a blizzard tonight. This is pretty rare for Western Washington.

img_0151

Christmas cookies!

img_0187

My dad as we passed this car: “Looks like someone you’d want to have a conversation with.” Funny, dad.

img_0188

My first ever Long Island Ice Tea. Certainly not my last!

img_0156

I’d like to see my own books up there one day.

img_0174

After I listed all the PhD programs I applied to, my dad said, “I didn’t hear the University of Washington.”

img_0190

He got over that quickly, and has now decided I’ll be attending Vanderbilt in Tennessee. Sounds good. Let me in please!

Who wants one of these classy Seattle shot glasses?

img_0184

How weird is this mini purse?

img_0185

Another gift idea. Who couldn’t use a talking coin jar?

img_0168Candles: what to get a girl when you can’t think of anything else.

img_01711Socks!! When I was packing, I had a really hard time finding any real socks. I guess I don’t need them often in California.

img_0143

My dad’s Christmas tree.  I think it’s just perfect.

I love those pictures. Don’t be ashamed about being addicted to your iPhone. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Merry Christmas!

aw fun! That is impressive that you exercised such restraint on the starbucks holiday cups until now! Enjoy the winter weather! :)

Vanderbilt is really pretty, I passed through Nashville this summer and it was pretty neat. I also enjoy the varieties of food and drink (Christmas cookies, fake cheese, Starbucks, Long Island Iced Tea). And I don’t think anything I’ll ever write will end up in the popular writers section, probably just relegated to dusty corners of a university library. But you, with your talent, will definitely end up there.

Woot woot for the TN shout out! I’m from Tennessee and I live right outside of Nashville. The Vandy area is really cool! And I think you’ll be accepted to all your schools and it’ll be YOU making the choice of where to go!

Your first long island ice tea?! You poor deprived child! Those are the best drinks in the world! And that mini-purse is super cute. Have fun in Washington! I’ve always wanted to go there.

Nashville is pretty cool! I’m sure you’ll end up at just the perfect place.

Don’t let him bash the iPhone addiction–it is real, and it is a problem. I have it it too. ;)

Is that a net around your porch or are you behind a screen door? O.o

Lucky, you get snow. I get slush here in Texas.

Snow! I’m hoping that we get some over the south of the UK, as it’s been ages that I’ve actually seen any (in real life, of course)!

And I agree; that Christmas tree is quite perfect. :)

Hahahaha! Great story!

I love the Cheese/Pepto contrast. Also, I actually have one of those Seattle shot glasses. Care to take a guess at which one?
