I know everyone loved the new blog design, but it just didn’t feel right to me. It was too busy and too pretty. I didn’t feel at home, so I was at a loss for what to do or post. And, the tone of my posts felt off too. I know this is mostly in my head.
It’s just that I’m very particular about my spaces and places. I once read a description of my personality type (INFJ), and it said that I’m intuitive and a dreamer, so the thoughts in my head are all over the place, and the way I deal with that internal chaos is by obsessively ordering and trying to control things in the external world. Obsessive might be too strong of a word, but let’s just say that I’m known for my organizing.
I have a hard time even concentrating when I’m surrounded by clutter and disorder (subjectively defined). At work I have my own cubicle, but I spend a large portion of my shift working at a shared desk. The first thing I do when I arrive is clear away all the clutter and arrange things just the way I like them.
It’s not that I’m rigid. Things don’t always have to be the same. They just have to feel right.
When I was growing up, I would reorganize my room several times of year. I liked the change. It seemed to open up new possibilities and ways of thinking. Plus, I liked the challenge of getting things just right.
My external environment has such a strong impact on the way I think about things. When things are orderly, I feel more comfortable with the crazy, random, abstract, ungrounded thoughts in my head.
So, I’m going to try this design on for size, and see how I feel.

I’m the same way when it comes to my space. Everyone else’s can be completely ridiculous and cluttered, but not mine. I can’t concentrate if things aren’t decluttered and I have room to work.
Okay, it’s all good. But I love this design much better. Especially the top. Still, it’s cool if you change it again.
I do like this. :)
i like this one a lot more. the header is very awesome.
INFJ, eh?
I’ve always liked personality tests for myself, but recently I’ve taken a liking to how other personalities relate to me.
According to my ISTJ profile at http://typelogic.com/ , you *are* an “enigma”.
Actually, I like this one a lot more.
you know, that all really does make sense. And this design is really nice too!!
ps. I’m an ISTJ too…although I find you more relatable than enigmatic :)
i like this blog a lot! the header’s a nice touch.
p.s. i’m also an INFJ. we’re such introverts. lol.
I am always looking for the “perfect” theme. I love what you’ve found here. Did you pay for it??
It’s about room for me too. I have to clear everything to the corners of my desk, so there’s plenty of free space. Glad someone understands. :)
Yeah, that’s sounds about right. ;) Thanks for the think. I haven’t read through that stuff in a long time.
Thanks Sophia. :)
Thanks. Yeah, you have to pay for the thesis theme. They were having a black friday sale, so it was 20% off. It’s highly customizable, especially for people who know what they’re doing. Unfortunately, I don’t. ;) But, I prefer simple themes like this.
