www. how to make a boy to like you.com

by Ashley on November 20, 2008

I’ve gone underground, y’all! I really can’t pull off y’all, can I? Anyway, I’ve made a decision to make my blog non-googleable. Nothing’s changed here. I’d just feel more comfortable if I didn’t have a nagging worry that someone I know will find my blog accidentally. I doubt anyone who finds my blog through search engines stays for more than 10 seconds anyway. So, this doesn’t mean much, but it does mean no more funny search terms to amuse me (though mine were never really that funny).

For the first and last time, I present to you the funny, curious, and mostly pathetic searches that led people to writingtoreachyou.com.

i don’t know what to say to other people Was this person looking for help or just confessing?

people who don’t know what to say after . . . This one makes me laugh just because WordPress cut off the rest of the search, so we’re made to guess how it ended. I have an idea.

mugatu I love Zoolander.

charlie brown nail polish Um . . . what?

i hate approaching people Yes, that is tricky.

ur always one step ahead of me and i feel . . . Don’t know how this one ends either. I wonder if these are song lyrics.

people have no manners No, they don’t. Especially library patrons. Of course, you were only directed here because I blogged about how I have no manners.

gay nightlife pictures Ha! This person was directed here after I wrote about my dad’s incident in a gay bar. Sorry I couldn’t provide anything of interest.

i’ve been told i have no manners Again with the manners? Well, at least you’re trying to do something about it.

in which i awkwardly managed to talk to the pretty library patron This seems incredibly specific.

www. how to make a boy to like you.com This one makes me laugh the hardest. Why did google direct this person to me? And, how long was he/she here before it became obvious that I have no freaking idea how to make a boy like me or you or anyone???

I have no idea how you found all that, but it’s fascinating how people stumbled across your blog.

I always like when people list these search terms! Mine are much less interesting. Maybe I’ll give it a few more months and see what happens. Or plant some keywords into my posts :P

I also love these posts! Google searches are bizarre sometimes. Do you know if your previous posts will remain indexed in Google once you make it unsearchable? I kind of want to do that also, but I don’t know if it will prevent searches on old posts.

At the moment all of my links in from Google searches are just about films or manga that I’ve written about… It’s not at all amusing and most saddening. :p

Your list is great though. :)

I like to pretend that there are a lot of people out there I know in real life who block off chunks of time to conduct internet searches with the specific intent of finding a blog that, for all they know, I may or may not have.

foster: I use StatCounter and the built-in stats that Wordpress.com provides.

Elizabeth: Yeah, I realized after I changed that my old posts could still be searched. That’s okay with me. One reason I wanted to go un-googleable was so I wouldn’t have to worry about mentioning names and places and such that could easily direct people to me. I won’t have to worry so much anymore.

Astharsis: Most of mine are boring too. 90% have something to do with writing.

Josh: I’m sure my many stalkers and admirers will be devastated by this change. ; )

Actually, you hit the point WHY I have full disclosure on my blog. I need to be googleable to make money, so I make a point to tell everyone that I’m a blogger, that they might end up on the web under a pseudonym, and I make sure that I’m blogging not only for me, but for everyone in life so it forces mee to be discrete.
