Brendan James

I’ve hardly explored any new music in the last year. As much as I love discovering someone new, I more often crave the familiar. So, I listen to David Gray and Coldplay on repeat. This is pretty common in my family. My mom listened to this one Christmas CD through all seasons and for years on end. Those songs are now burned in my brain for life. And, my brother? I remember when he and my mom picked me up from the airport when I came home for Christmas my freshman year of college. The CD playing in his Jeep was the Rolling Stone’s Greatest Hits. That was 6 years ago, and that damn CD has been playing almost every time I’ve been in his car since.

But, early this year, I saw this face staring at me from my facebook page every time I logged on (which I do an average of 97987 times a day). Finally, I gave in and bought Brendan James‘ EP. I proceeded to listen to it in my normal style–ad nauseam. I measure music by the degree to which it moves me. Brendan moves me, and I can’t wait for a whole album full of awesome songs. Check out Brendan’s new album The Day is Brave when it’s released on June 3rd.
